In 1908, Amalie Auguste Melitta Bentz revolutionized coffee brewing forever.

In her day, the most common methods of brewing coffee were far from ideal. They resulted in over-brewed, ground-filled cups.

Using a simple brass pot and blotting paper from her son's notebook, Melitta invented something never-before seen: the paper coffee filter. The filter effectively captured grounds, while allowing the natural flavor of the coffee to shine.

Over 100 years later, we remain true to Melitta's vision: We strive to make it easy for anyone to brew a great cup of coffee.
